Economy & Jobs

As my grandmother would say, America is the land of opportunity and it is only up to us to realize our full potential. We are in a unique time of history where America has the opportunity to lead the world in a direction of prosperity never before seen. By investing deeply in green technologies, modernizing our public infrastructure, and investing in science, education, and healthcare, we can not only create lasting jobs but literally invest in our futures. If Americans are defined by anything, it is our ability to work hard and be world leaders - so let's lead!

National Healthcare

I have worked in healthcare and research for over a decade, providing families and individuals with the help they need. I have seen how illness can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or income. We need to work tirelessly to provide top notch, affordable care to all citizens. In 21st century America, no one should have to go bankrupt to seek treatment or watch a loved one die due to a lack of access to care. I would pledge to use my experience to support healthcare policy reform that will reduce financial burdens and increase access and right to care for all.

Political Reform

Did you know I'd be expected to raise $20M for this Senate race? We need reform. If I run, I will only accept monies which support my and Colorado values. I cannot and will not be bought. If elected I would push for financial transparency at the highest levels of government and policies restricting gerrymandering and improved voter access nation wide. I also strongly support voting modernization such as automated voter registration, secure electronic voting, and a paid national holiday for presidential elections. A democracy is the people; we need our voices.

Education

Education is the backbone of a democratic society. Simply put, we must invest in our future by investing in our youth, and especially investing in those who teach them. Educators have some of the most challenging positions - they are responsible not only for teaching curriculum, but for teaching those in their most vulnerable years how to engage with the world. Good citizens are produced in the classroom. I would pledge to support public education at all levels, to work toward raising funding for public schools, and to push for debt-free college at the higher education level.

Science & Technology

Funding science and technology literally invests in our future. We often take for granted all that science has offered us, from the telephone to medical cures to your favorite television programs. Every bit of our life is touched by science and technology and it is critical we continue investing at unprecedented levels so as to ensure competitive global leadership. We should particularly invest in science and technologies to solve our future needs and understandings such as how to handle the clean water crisis, how to personalize medical treatment, and how to combat climate change.

Environment & Sustainability

Global leadership in sustainable environmental practice is not only good for our planet, but for our physical, emotional, and financial well beings. America has a prime opportunity to capitalize on the potential benefits of being a 21st century leader in combating climate change including everything from reducing greenhouse gases to modernizing food production to managing our public lands. We should work to become the example of modern excellence, once again respected for our foresight and innovation. America is nothing if not capable of great change - let's be bold!

National Security

As global leaders, we must act not only in our best interest, but in the interest of all persons as we ultimately prosper more as others prosper. We must work to defend our borders and values while keeping a warm welcome for those who wish to pursue their dreams or refuge in America. We cannot turn our backs to those most in need, it is not who we are as people. We are a nation of immigrants and we should highly value our heritage and founding principles.

Rural Values

Fun fact! I grew up in a small, rural mountain town in Northern New Hampshire. We lived in a small house my father built, surrounded by trees, a creek, peace and quiet. We literally asked neighbors for sugar and offered to help shovel each other's driveways when the Winter storms came. I deeply value rural life and wish to support those who choose such incredible communities to call home. Sometimes, it can feel like the policies better benefit the urban lifestyles, so I would pledge to all rural Coloradans to work tirelessly to provide small communities with policies that support job growth and innovation while maintaining your unique cultures.

Social Justices

We are all Americans, we are all equal, and we deserve equal rights regardless of gender, race, heritage, disability, income, religion, LGBTQ, or any other things that make us the unique and strong human beings that we are. Period.

I do not support laws which do not support equal rights for all Americans, including Americans of varying educational, familial, and political backgrounds.
